Washburn County Joins Pilot Plan on Forest Herbicides
Washburn County moves to allow herbicides beyond 2,4-D on county forest lands this year. The agriculture and forestry committee will oversee policy, favoring Roundup and Valpar, with a pilot project using manual release methods in Casey town. A countywide referendum was defeated, and the board returned control to the committee under the 10 year forest plan, while opponents vow possible legal action to block spraying.
