Platteville weighs closing WBIA beef bull test station
UW Platteville may end the 13 year old beef bull performance test operation. WBIA president says university wants to repurpose the facility. A meeting will discuss continuing the program or moving it to new quarters in southwestern Wisconsin. Bulls tested since 1970 have fed into WBIA sales with prices around 2500 to 3400 dollars.

Dairy breakfasts kick off Wood County June Dairy Month
Wood County launches June Dairy Month with a pancake breakfast from five to nine thirty a.m. on June 1 at the Roth Brothers farm near Rudolph. The Wisconsin Rapids Area Chamber Agribusiness Committee sponsors the event with tours of the farm and tickets free from committee members or three dollars at the door. A second breakfast on June 10 will be hosted by Karl and Karleen Schiller at 7116 Lincoln Road in Pittsville, serving from five to nine a.m.
