Sugar boosts Eau Claire image with large sugar storage
A warehouse near Half Moon Lake holds over 250000 pounds of sugar in 100 pound bags to small sacks after arrival in January from American Crystal Sugar Co. The sugar is stored under ASCS commodity loan rules across Eau Claire Superior Green Bay and Milwaukee. Warehouse stock supports a $75 million ASCS loan program involving growers, co ops, and price supports.
