Local residents return from area hospital and visits

Mrs. Harvey Daniels came home Tuesday from Hamilton hospital after an appendicitis operation. Mrs. F. L. Neely, visiting here, returned to Dallas Friday. W. M. Miller and Leo Brandt, students at Den, were home for the weekend.

Master Magician Dr Gaffney to Perform in Gustine PTA Night

Dr Gaffney master magician and company appear in Gustine tonight at 7 45 in the Gustine High School Auditorium. Admission is 10 and 20 cents with one third of proceeds benefiting the Gustine PTA.

Rural Aid plans and school progress in Comanche County

Deputy State Superintendent Holbrook visited county schools applying for Rural Aid noting careful planning, cooperation, and good teacher pupil coordination. The Rural Aid filings were completed by October 1. The Legislative Advisory Committee adjusted budgets, estimating $800,000 needed for full funding. Biennium outlook is progressive with transportation, high school tuition, and salary aid payments planned. Health, physical education, music, and safety education added. Visual Education may be funded if counties join programs or schools own equipment. County Educational Association met October 23 at Lake Eanes with about 125 teachers. Lake Eanes High School Orchestra provided music. speakers included Hampton, Holbrook, Boulter, and Compton.

Lamkin man takes post at Piggly Wigglytore store

Don Morris of Lamkin accepted a position with the Piggly Wigglytore here and began work this week. Norris, who has worked in the Nee Brothers Store at Lamkin for two years, plans to move his family to Comanche next week.
