Uncle Ben Wilhelm buried at Vandyke
David Ben Wilhelm died at his South Comanche residence on September 28 due to senility. Funeral services were held September 29 by Rev. J. M. Wynne at the residence, with burial at Vanderike Cemetery. He was born March 22, 1837 in South Carolina and moved to Texas in 1877 settling in Comanche County. He leaves his widow and thirteen children, including Mesdames Wood, Lizzie Bell, and several sons. A Confederate veteran, he was active in the Methodist Church and honored by the Veterans Association.

J C Harrison Dies In Oregon
J C Harrison aged 37 died in Portland Oregon on Monday from complications of gas exposure during World War I. His body arrived in Comanche via the Frisco at 5 am Thursday and burial followed at Sidney Cemetery at 11 oclock under American Legion Cunningham Post auspices with Rev J L Ray assisting. He is survived by his wife and his mother Mrs Andrew Harrison and several brothers and sisters of Sidney.
