Comanche Hosts Terracing School And Demonstrations

The Comanche Chamber of Commerce will host a two day terracing school on October 6 and 7 at the Dan Clayton farm with noon meals. A district court room meeting follows on Saturday at 2 30 pm. Local implement dealers will display terracing machinery including Corsicana and Texas Utility graders and a Fordson driven unit. Readers share strong results from terraces with farmers like Luker Daniel Pinkard Chilton Mackey Burton and Stetson hats cited as proof of gains and reduced wash. County Agent Barton notes sixty six farms terraced since 1926 with many attendees already beginning work on their own.

A match near a traveling man’s gasoline tank caused a flame that burned Eltos Dudley’s arms and face and partly destroyed a car trunk. Sheriff J T Gilbreath and deputies arrested Tom Sutton and wife near Indian Gap on a liquor charge after a youth confessed to drinking beer bought at their Comanche residence.
