Savannah Poet Allie Walls Jr. Dies at 36
Savannah mourns poet Allie Egan Walls Jr. who died May 7 in a car crash at Price Street. Once known as Sonny Boy he published Childhood Farewell at 21 and taught in public schools, painted, and helped riverfront restoration. Family and friends set up an annual poetry award in his memory.
