Zach Named New President at Holy Name Society

Former nurse charged with killing patients
A former Brooklyn psychiatric center nurse Kathleen Johnson aged 45 has been indicted on second-degree manslaughter criminally negligent homicide and assault for allegedly striking patient Mary Wright 35 with a wooden chair on June 9 1976 after she vomited Wright died about 40 hours later. Johnson could face up to seven years in jail if convicted.

Veteran NBC personality Ben Graver died Tuesday at New York University Hospital Center after a long career from 1936 to 1973. He announced New Year events from Times Square on 11 occasions between 1951 and 1969 and covered major events including World War II era conferences and the Berlin airlift. Born in 1908 in New York City, Graver appeared on Broadway as a child and later served as NBC Symphony Orchestra commentator for Toscanini.
