Report urges more charity tax breaks in America
A U S report by the Commission on Private Philanthropy and Public Needs argues Americans are highly generous with about 26 billion dollars a year in cash and equal value in labor. It calls for expanded tax deductions to boost giving and proposes a 2 percent corporate donation target by 1980 along with a new permanent federal philanthropy commission and stricter reporting for non profits.
