Winter Snowstorm Hits Nebraska Western region
A winter snowstorm moved from Wyoming into western Nebraska with heavy snow and strong winds. The National Weather Service warned of more than four inches of new snow by tonight and predicted the system would spread eastward, bringing about two more inches to eastern Nebraska. The surge is driven by a low pressure center over southeast Colorado and a cold front across western Nebraska.

Edwin Scott deputy state director said reports of nine closures were a misunderstanding and that earlier phase out plans have been shelved for now.
