Educational plan pondered in Nebraska
LINCOLN Neb. UPI state officials consider a shared education base to cut costs and avoid program duplication. A proposal to set in-state and out-of-state tuition to attract more Nebraska students is being studied by the State Colleges Board of Trustees. Jon Oberg cites the need for neighboring states to adopt a similar plan and notes a reciprocal agreement with Iowa is under development. He also says trustees can equalize tuition if desired, but a first year net dollar loss could occur if others do not participate.
