Local Families and Small Biz Notes from Laguna Park

Mr and Mrs W C Adams of Bosque Courts visited Adams brother Mack Adams in Dallas on Sunday. Their son Mike Adams, a former Austin teacher now en route to the Philippines for Peace Corps service, accompanied them. Tye White bought Shorty Sills Barber Shop and opened it in Fairview. Mr and Mrs Meford Corley of Waco visited the Gambrells, and the Gambrells stayed overnight with daughter Gloria Gambrell in Mesquite. Blue Bennett Art Craft Club members worked at Clifton Sunset on March 5.

Road District No. 8 Approves Bond Issue in Bosque County

Bosque County Road District No. 8 voters approved up to 40000 dollars in bonds for road improvements including a loop project. The ballot passed 139 to 28 with James A. Bond as Election Judge and James S. White as Alternate Judge. West Shore Civic Improvement Association led by Edward L. Martin steered three years of work toward the hard surfaced market road.
