Terrific response marked Clifton Lions Rotarians joint meeting
The Clifton Lions Club and Bosque County Rotary Club held a first joint meeting at the Clifton Civic Center on Tuesday February 8 with Ed Foreman of Executive Development Systems delivering How to Enjoy Life More. Foreman urged positive thinking set goals write them down and practice them to feel terrific and inspire others. Rotarian LeRoy Williams introduced Foreman and Bosque Rotary president Shelby Richardson announced a March 11 talent show at Bettis Auditorium. Lions president Ernest Erickson said Clifton Lions would sponsor an animal circus on March 14 and Civic Improvement Society members hosted their final Lions meal.

Mrs. Dahl 97, dies in Houston after Clifton roots
Hendrik O. Dahl widow Minnie Lee Wallace Dahl died January 31 in a Houston nursing home where she had lived for years. Funeral at Jefferson Memorial chapel with Pastor from Parker Memorial United Methodist Church. She was born June 16, 1879 in Bosque County to Samuel Jefferson and Martha Ann Wallace and moved from Clifton to Houston in the late 1920s. Pallbearers included Curtis E. Dahl and Douglas Dahl. She is survived by a son two grandsons two granddaughters and 11 great grandchildren.

The Business and Professional Women’s Guild met February 3 at the home of Mrs. Alven Nelson with co host Mrs. Eldon Zimmerman. Mrs. Irene Gangsher introduced the guest speaker after a devotion by Mrs. George Arnold. Mrs. Leroy Bronstad presented a program on The Art of Handwork showcasing quilting embroidery knitting crochet felt craft ribbon weaving and hemstitching among others. Twenty two members attended with guests Mrs. Bronstad Mrs. Hazel Duncan Mrs. Lawrence Jenson and Mrs. Floyd B. Crunk. The next meeting will be March 1 at the home of Mrs. Carl Remington.
