Ventilation Solutions for Winter Hen Houses

Poultry expert Mac Moore from Michigan State University urges positive ventilation in hen houses to control moisture and protect eggs and flock health. Use a thermostat controlled exhaust fan and adequate air inlets to move at least one cubic foot per minute per square foot of floor space, with attic intake to stabilize temperature. Insulation helps retain heat, while ceiling placement of fans reduces moisture buildup and keeps the flock comfortable.
