4 H Girls Prove They Are Cooks
The annual 4 H dinner was served at the Randolph Rockey home in Brush College Monday evening. Each 4 H girl prepared a dish representing her summer’s work in food preparation and baking. The menu included meat loaf mashed potatoes gravy relish tray corn peas hot rolls cake and ice cream arid hot cocoa. One cake baked by Mrs Russell Sanders was decorated in green with a 4 H emblem. Jailbreaker Captured After 13 Hour Central Michigan Search
Stanley Cooper, 20, jailed at Clare County, was found hiding in a cabin near the Clare County Seat after a prolonged manhunt. Sheriff James Darling with State Police and Clare city officers conducted road blocks and tracking, locating Cooper at 3 pm Sunday. Reckless Driver Fined in Clare Court
Clare City Police arrested Ray mond L. Logan 27 of Coleman on a reckless driving charge after he ran his car off East Fourth Street. He pled guilty before Justice William B. Chester Richard Jr. and Stanley J. Hergenroeder, Clare county natives, met at the annual U S Army Dependent Schools in Germany conference. Richard, assistant principal at Kaiserslautern elementary school, arrived in August with his family. Hergenroeder, deputy director for education of 107 schools in Germany and France, has been in Europe since 1950. Enrollments exceed 41,000 with over 1,700 American teachers employed.

A University of Michigan survey finds about half of Michigan city councilmen feel underpaid for their part time duties. The study, using random sampling, polled 157 of 467 councilmen in 80 cities with over 4 000 residents and drew responses from 125, an 80 percent rate.
