Christian Science Church schedules a Sunday Lesson Sermon on December 2 titled Ancient and Modern Necromancy Allas Mesmerism and Hypnotism Denounced. The Golden Text from Isaiah and Psalms passages frame the theme with references to oppression justice and divine protection and cites the Science and Health text on the harm of evil thoughts and the power of virtue.
The Women’s Missionary Society held its annual Thanksgiving service Sunday evening with special music on piano and organ by Mrs. Burk and Mrs. Garver. The boys quartet and a duet by Mr. Newman and Dolin Wayne performed, and Mrs. Garver and Mr. and Mrs. Loran Birdsall sang Rose of Sharon. Mr. Garver showed films of African mission work. A good collection was realized. Local families hosted visitors for Thanksgiving and weekend gatherings. Deer were reportedly bagged by Al Shaffer and sons.
