Notes From At Is Good to Be Back on the Job
The writer returns after two weeks of illness and notes slow activity until after deer season. A meeting at Charles Jones’s home in Greenwood township discussed soil conservation and planned winter meetings. Attendees included Maud Chaffee, Howard Davis, Odell Lamb, David Miller and Harry Randle. The writer aided Gerrit Hamstra on a tile line survey and reports sufficient fall for tile installation next year. Gerrit uses a five year corn oats hay rotation and a trashy system to break old hay fields to control quack grass and erosion. He has planted several thousand pines and plans more tree planting efforts.
