A Tuesday evening gathering at Garfield township hall Lake featured an engaging 4-H film with George MacQueen as speaker. An election elected Robert Streeter Lake to a one year term and Mrs Elmira Fletcher Farwell to a two year term to the Farwell area board of directors.
Farwell residents enjoyed visits and outings. Mrs. Wood reports her husband improving after a ride with Mr Hi Gates. The Chatterbox Farm Bureau group plans eight o clock meeting at Frank and Mary Humphrey’s home. A double birthday celebration in Flint honored Harold Pike and Mike Thrush.
Blue Star Mothers held a November 2 meeting with twelve members. They draped the charter for Nellie Glass Young and sought service boys' addresses calling Opal Curtis for details. A prayer service for Ella N. Peters was held at Coker Funeral Home and a special meeting is set for the Farwell Methodist Church basement on the sixteenth at 8 p.m. District officers from the northwest Michigan district will attend and mothers needing transportation may call listed numbers.
The Eastern Star Alice L. Seely Chapter No 194 held a Saturday November 6 installation. Worthy Matron Leah Wilson and Worthy Patron Duncan Koepplinger presided. Installing officers included Alba Lyness Eva Schlafley Iva Fisher Anna Mae Lockwood. Guest soloist Frank Warner accompanied by Hazel Tryon. Gifts and jewels were presented to the officers as Ina Mae Davison succeeds.
