Auto Tag Sales Open Record Day at Allen Agency
A record number of auto license tag buyers visited the Allen Agency in Clare on Monday for first day sales of 1966 tags. Rex Allen reported three staff were kept busy assisting applicants and issuing plates. Most registrants paid a $1 weight tax plus the $35 uninsured claims fee only one applicant paid the extra fee. A line formed early and waits persisted throughout the day.
