Walter H. Larman Post No 128 American Legion held a regular meeting Monday night. Kyle McKinnon and Commander Jay Bellinger reported on a Mt Pleasant gathering sponsored by Central State Teachers College to develop ways to beautify Highway US 27. A committee chaired by Stanley Masten Omer Hall and Kyle McKinnon will coordinate with city groups. Discussion covered grave markers for deceased veterans and a future decision. Plans for a March 20 dance and the Tenth District meeting in Mt Pleasant were set. The adjutant reported on a school essay contest The Duty of Every Citizen to His Country held in three area high schools and sponsored by the Post.
