Torch Bearers satire play to open Thursday in town
Public school directed production of The Torch Bearers by Supt Kennedy arrives Thursday March 28 at the Auditorium. The 1922 Savoy Theatre hit, starring Alison Skipworth and Wary Boland, is a three act comedy about home talent amateurs. Early Clare Pio Neer Succumbs in Peaceful Slumber
Mary Jane Herzel Schaeffer, born 1854 in Williamsville, died March 8 at Clare after a long pioneer life with Julius W. Schaeffer. The couple lived north of the city and raised six children, with eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at the Lutheran church led by Rev. C. Binhammer. Burial followed at Chetty Grove.

Mrs Abe Snyder passed away at her Bertha Lake home after an illness of five weeks on Thursday morning March 5. She leaves three children Osro Lorinda and Hart of Leota plus one brother Thomas of Houghton. Funeral services were held at Riverdale on Thursday at 2:00 PM with interment in Riverdale Cemetery beside her three deceased children.

Four Men Injured In Auto Wreck At McEwan and 6th
Four men were seriously injured about 11 30 Saturday night when their auto crashed into another car and rammed a street lamp post. The force sent the post about 65 feet before the vehicle crashed into a tree near the Haley corner. Jack Logic suffered a broken nose and facial injuries, while Ben Logic Frank Squires and Joe Layewski also endured various lacerations. Laurie Woodward escaped injury. his companion James Duncan was uninjured. The Logic car was wrecked. Woodward’s car had a bent wheel and fender.
