Local Lodge Confers First Degree on Leo Joslin

Tuesday evening at John Q. Look Lodge No. 404 F. and A. M. Leo Joslin of this city received the First Degree. The apron was presented by his father Roy H. Joslin. A large turnout including Sag inaw visitors attended. The Master Willard Bicknell called for speeches, and refreshments with music closed the gathering.

Central Michigan C Conference Meet Sets All Conference Team

Central Michigan C Conference representatives met in Evart Saturday to set baseball and basketball schedules and name the all conference basketball team. Tupper of Clare earned center on the first team. Sanford and Kigar shared a guard position with Kigar chosen. Second team includes Partee Reed City Stout and Luce Lake City with guards Sanford Clare and Church Ewart. Lake City won the basketball trophy after eight league games. Clare and Gladwin each beat Lake City twice. Baseball schedule lists five conference games beginning April 19 with Gladwin at Evart and ending May 24 Evart at Gladwin.

Rural Districts Vote For April Election Winners

Rural districts select candidates for the April election with lists of officials by district. In Arthur, Republican officials include Supervisor Ray Harrold and Clerk J C Newman with others. Democratic nominees include Supervisor Lee Reynolds and Clerk Dorothy Rockey. Long Beach Pioneer Joseph L. Littlefield Dies

Joseph L. Littlefield dies at Seaside Hospital Long Beach Cal at 6 00 am Thursday March 14. Daughter Mrs Hazel Smith travels with the body to Farwell arriving 12 54 pm Saturday via Ann Arbor railroad. Funeral planned Sunday afternoon from the Methodist church Rev George Stanford in charge. Littlefield suffered ten days with an acute bone infection. A life sketch of this Warwell pioneer will appear next week.

Lucetta Bowler Injured Roller Skating on Main Street

Imeretta Bowler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Bowler, was badly hurt Tuesday evening while roller skating on Main Street with friends. The end of the line caused her to be thrown against a parked car, injuring her right eye, hip, and ankle. she was taken home by ambulance and is recovering.

Faculty to stage three act comedy next Thursday

The high school faculty will present The Torch Bearers a three act comedy on Thursday March 28 at 8 15 pm in the high school auditorium. Georg Kellys script follows Mr Ritter and his wife in a tale of amateur theater with Pampinelli the director. Cast includes Frederick Ritter Austin Bates Huxley Hoosefrosse Lee Brown Spindler Harold Benson Ralph Tiviller and many others. Tickets are sold by faculty and students with reservations at Mussells Drug Store starting Tuesday March 25.
