New Device Doubles Engine Power and Eliminates Valves
Washington reports a device claimed by German inventor Dr. Adolph Schnuerle to double engine power and remove the need for valves. The loop scavenging system blows exhaust gases from combustion chambers, with ports in the cylinder walls creating a loop of air for cleaning. Tests allegedly show a two stroke loop scavenged engine doubling output per cylinder versus a four stroke. The Commerce Department may hand the idea to American engineers for more study.
