Sam Johnson a 70 year old Reed City Ford dealer was hospitalized with chest and head bruises a broken nose and cuts after a collision one mile west of Clare on US 10. He rear ended a 1986 Ford driven by Alta McGrath 22 of Farwell whose car caught fire but she escaped unharmed.

City Council Receives New Police Cruiser for Immediate Use
The City Council bought a new cruiser for the Police Department. It arrived Tuesday and was immediately put into service equipped with two way radio, spot lights, warning lights, and other police gear. It solves a transportation problem and should boost department efficiency.
Mt Pleasant resident recovering after city traffic accident
Mr Johnson told State Police at the Mt Pleasant Post that he cannot remember the collision. He is recovering satisfactorily at the hospital and is expected to be released Friday. His cousin Anta Johnson who drove to Detroit with him to pick up the pickup followed him home but did not see the crash due to darkness. Other incidents nearby include Theodore Beckrow of Midland who damaged a boulevard light post and Clyde Stall of Charlotte who stopped at a traffic light as Melvin Rademacher of Lansing ran.

Mrs. E. W. Brown Dies at Farwell Home
Catherine Alwood Brown born April 18 1896 in Grant township Michigan was the eldest daughter of John and Susan Jackson. She married Russell Vern Alwood in 1918 and had six children. After his death in 1942 she married Ernest W. Brown in 1946 and died May 21 1947 at age 51 after heart illness. Funeral held at Farwell Methodist Church with Rev. Charles B. Hahn officiating.

Sanderson to Serve Long Term in State Prison
Marion Sanderson pled guilty to incest and statutory rape. Judge John C Shafer sentenced him to eight and a half to ten years at Jacksons Southern Michigan State Prison. Sanderson was taken to Jackson Saturday by Sheriff Seaver Amble and deputies Eddie Bruce and Clinton Cook.

Rosebush Man Dies in Head-On US-10 Wreck
A Rosebush man Curt Spickerman aged 53 was driving north when a southbound car driven by Robert Annan of Birmingham with steering failure veered into his lane on US-10 near Free land. Theodore H Graham 36 died instantly. Freda Spickerman was injured. Curt Spickerman suffered chest injuries and ribs broken. All three were hospitalized in serious condition. The Grahams were relatives of the Rosetush party returning from a wedding. Funeral services for Theodore H Graham were held May 28 at the Presbyterian church in Rosetush.
