Soil Conservation Directors Meet at County Agents Office
Clare County Soil Conservation District directors met February 10 at the County Agent's office for their regular meeting. They reviewed a report from the State Association in Hast Lansing January 30 and heard about progress from George Becker on planning groups. They set 1948 goals to seed and improve pastures, aim to feed 200 acres of pasture and renovate or fertilize another 200, and make cattle and sheep grazing Clare county's top agricultural enterprise. A goal of 60 complete farm plans was established, each plan including soil survey, map, crop rotation, and livestock load to fit the farmer while preserving productivity.
