Yuletide Legends of Flowers and Christmas Greens
A Christmas lore piece traces holly ivy mistletoe rosemary and the Christmas rose to ancient belief. Legends link mistletoe to warding off evil and healing while poinsettia stems from a tale of a poor girl and a statue. Rosemary symbolizes constancy though it faded from Victorian decor and holly berries were said to reveal future husbands.
