Florentine pulpit tells Christ Child tale in Santa Maria Novella
In Santa Maria Novella Florence the white marble pulpit features bas reliefs of the Annunciation Nativity and Presentation. Commissioned by the Rucellai family with Brunelleschi design, the column sparked a court feud with the Minerbetti family over rightful ownership. The court allowed placement with a condition to swap if needed, but the pulpit remained and bears the Rucellai coat of arms.
