Calling non laying hens the season’s culling priority
Michigan State College poultry expert Dr G Card urges culling non laying hens to improve flock quality. He describes healthy hens as laying, with bright combs and supple pubic bones, while culled birds show droopiness, hard abdomen, and pale pigmentation.
