Legume precedents may reduce need. Typical targets are 20 to 40 pounds actual N per acre with fertilizers such as 100 pounds ammonium sulphate or nitrate to achieve 20 to 30 pounds actual N. 260 pounds of 12 12 12 supplies about 24 pounds.
