War Rhetoric and Neutrality Debates Stir American Voters
A historical opinion piece surveys public mood on entering or avoiding another war. It analyzes three American stances from nonintervention to defense of neutral seas, critiques Nye and Clark neutrality proposals, and warns against entangling economic ties that could pull the U.S. into conflict. It cites Wall Street loans, Morgan Bank roles, and the 1916-17 shift toward war funding as cautionary lessons.
