Two Previous Teton County Hangings
The article recalls two Western frontier hangings in the area that became Teton County. The first occurred in spring 1881 at Muddy Creek near Collins, with a unknown killer executed by a necktie party at S. T. ranch below Chateau. The second was William Pepo in 1900 for the 1898 killing of Julius Plath, carried out under Sheriff Hagen with prosecuting attorney John E. Erickson.
