Teton County Relief Office to Close September First
The Teton County Relief Committee for the federal government will end relief work tonight with orders to cease on September first. The office in the Larson block has operated since last March and $10,000 was allotted to the county with $1,000 for August. From March to now 273 applications were filed, 246 approved, and 16 transient requests appeared this month. Committee members were W. N. Streeter chair, W. B. Butchart treasurer, K. BE. Sturgis, H. L. Stafford, and J. A. Baart.

Fire That Is Out and Can of Kerosene Prove Fine
A kitchen fire started by attempting to rekindle a nearly out blaze with kerosene exploded. R. J. Dyer, Great Northern agent at Augusta, suffered burns to his arms face and legs but wrapped in a blanket and aided by a water-filled tub he avoided worse injury. He was taken to Chateau hospital and is recovering.

Joe LeJeune of Great Falls pleaded guilty in J G Jackson justice court to injuring and destroying county property during the George Stoffman execution disruption. He was fined 100 dollars for the offense. police say an unknown man impersonated a jail official to gain entry and incited tearing of the canvas enclosure. Sheriff Billings condemned the act as interference with an execution. The case could carry up to 200 dollars and up to several months in prison.

Execution at 4:40 A.M. Ends Hoffman Murder Case
George Hoffman was executed by hanging at daybreak in a county machine shed near the jail after being convicted of murder in the September killing of George Burrell. About 200 witnesses watched as the trap door dropped at 4:40 a.m. Hoffman's last words were silence and a prepared note blaming himself for the crime.
