Interfaith Center to Feature at World Council Assembly
The World Council of Churches Assembly will include interfaith events with 15 official guests and about 20 accredited visitors from eight nations. Speakers from Tunisia India Thailand Canada and others will discuss Life of the World Life in the Community and Witnessing in a Divided World. The Interfaith Centre at UBC Asian Centre runs July 25 to August 10 with lectures an information booth a prayer room and Circle of Voices book sales.

Alcohol awareness myths and facts presented at seminar
Speaker Special Constable Gauthier led an Alcohol Awareness Seminar with Transi Friendship Centre and CACRS, debunking myths about drinking and driving. Thirty one attendees learned that food does not sponge alcohol, oxidation governs turnover, carbonated drinks may speed absorption, and coffee does not sober.
