Usery Opposes Military Union in Armed Forces

U S Labor Secretary W J Usery said he opposed organizing the military and warned against a strike, after addressing the Texas Association Business Convention in San Antonio amid a heavy service member presence. The American Federation of Government Employees announced it would issue a report to gauge interest in organization efforts. On this date in 1776 a day of prayer and Thanksgiving marked the end of the Revolutionary War.
