Drug raid nets dozen charged with marijuana and other drugs
Police swept a Marion area raid arresting 30 individuals including 22 year old 517 Fourth Street SW and 19 year old 454 Eighth Avenue SW on marijuana possession and multiple counts. Debby Gardner 19 faces two drug delivery counts while Earl Schnitzlein 22 charged with two counts of prescription drugs. Two Youths in Hospital After School Fight in Cedar Rapids
Cedar Rapids police planned to station plainclothes officers near McKinley junior high after a disturbance Monday that hospitalized two youths. Two suspects, aged 16 and 17, faced assault and battery charges for striking Lyle Hanson and Craig Phillips with a club and pipe in the 500 block of Tenth Street SE at 3 16 p m. Both victims were treated for head wounds and concussions at Mercy hospital and listed in good condition.
