Feeder Auctions Set for Fall Sales Across Southern Indiana
Purdue extension figure Russell Brower notes about 6400 feeder calves and 6100 feeder pigs will be sold at eleven southern Indiana auctions this fall. Growth in native cooperative auctions shown with roughly 1955 and 1956 sale totals disclosed, plus dehorned calves bring higher prices and steer calves earn more per hundredweight. Auction dates include Greensburg September 18 and Vincennes October 19 for calves, with pig sales at Springville and other towns through October 23. A new feeder auction opens at Vincennes this year.
