Porter Son Breaks Arm After Pony Fall

Richey Duroc Farm Hogs Win Big at Indiana State Fair
Duroc hogs from Milroy based Richey Duroc Farms show strong at Labor Day Indiana State Fair. A Junior spring boar earned reserve champion in Indiana Duroc breed classes and won a class of 50 boars. A Junior Yearling boar placed ninth and a senior spring boar finished 14th in a class of 80. This marked the first year the Richeys entered hogs at the fair. The farm is owned by Walter P. Carthage High School band directed by John Medjeski placed ninth among 87 bands at the Indiana State Fair Band Parade held on the race track. The 50 member ensemble earned twenty dollars in prize money with Mary Shutt as drum major.
