Texas considers electronic banking amendment
The 1977 Texas Legislature approved Proposition Six for voter submission by 29 to 1 in the Senate and 120 to 15 in the House. The amendment would let banks install off premise EFT devices in retail centers for cash, purchases, deposits, and bill paying, with officials stressing it complements, not replaces, existing services.
