The Cameron Sluggers lost 6 to 5 at Gay Hill on Sunday after nine innings. Gay Hill rallied in the ninth with two outs as heavy hitting hitters delivered the deciding punch. Jack Rimer pitched the final frame in relief of Reese, but the Sluggers could not hold the lead.
Walter D. Cline, a well known Wichita Falls off man, was elected president of the West Texas Chamber of Commerce at Bi Spring Texas during the annual convention. He succeeds Wilbur D. Hawk, publisher of the Amarillo News-Globe.
The Cameron Sluggers lost a baseball game as the heavy hitters overcame a first inning lead with a ninth inning rally. Deeckall of Gay Hill stood out with four hits in five at bats including a home run in the first inning, though the Sluggers were outhit overall.
The Cameron Sluggers meet the Cameron Comets Sunday afternoon at Lawless Green in a marquee city game expected to draw the largest crowd of the season. The Sluggers then host Milano, offering two games for the price of one.
Dennis McDonald is slated to lineup Sunday afternoon after returning to Cameron last week from a stint with the Waco club in the Dixie League. The move positions him in the lineup for the game.
