Alcoa will construct a fourth ring baking furnace at its Rockdale Works to increase carbon anode production efficiency. Howard F. Chrisco says design work is near completion and first contracts will be awarded within weeks, with production expected by end of 1965. The project uses an existing building and a 200 foot stack, will not raise overall employment, and aims to remodel older furnaces dating to 1952.
