TWU Modern Choir To Present Three Musical Programs
The Texas Woman's University Modern Choir of 36 voices tours Cameron April 25 26 after a Houston engagement. They perform at the Marak Festival Sunday at 3 p.m. and at First Methodist Cameron at 7 p.m. on April 25. A 10 15 a.m. program follows Monday at Yee High School auditorium. Cameron Hail Storm Causes Major Damage Across City
The Cameron hail and wind storm Sunday night caused extensive damage estimated at 200 000 to 250 000 dollars with 500 to 609 buildings and 150 cars affected. Northeastern Cameron saw roofs windows and vehicles damaged while Yee High School suffered about 200 broken windows. Rockdale also reported a brief hail event with egg size hail and big hail noted by the city manager.

Two days of entertainment unfold in Central Texas on April 24 and 25 as 120 Texans perform at the Marak Musical Theatrical and Dancing Festival. Wildlife Exhibit Wins Top Award at Tejas District Exposition
Scout Troop 191 of Cameron won the championship booth at the Tejas District Scout Exposition held Saturday at the National Guard Armory. The Wildlife booth featured live snakes baby owls and possums and was among entries from about 200 Cubs Scouts and Explorers in the district. Scout Executive Dick Wyatt described the event as a mix of booth demonstrations and stage shows illustrating Scouting advancement and activities.
