Travis P. T. A. Thanksgiving Program At School

A Thanksgiving program was held in the low first grade at Travis school led by Miss Mae Burtis. After the program each child received a candy package from grade mothers including Mrs. Porter and Mrs. Atkinson. The low fourth grade received a crescent curtain gift from their mothers. Travis cafeteria sponsored by the P T A offered a turkey dinner for 10 cents per plate attracting many patrons and students.

Story Telling Program For Travis Children

Mrs F L Thomas of College Station expert on children's reading and three years Texas Congress of Mothers and PTA state chairman presented a storytelling program to Miss Claribel Carringtons fourth grade at Travis school on Tuesday afternoon. The first set of tales used Lapland Eskimo themes while the later group focused on American stories centered on Native Americans.
