Cotton crop misses five year average world wide

Harold Garth Andrews son of Mr. and Mrs. O L Andrews died at home on South Washington avenue Tuesday night after a short illness. He was a Bowie Elementary student and much esteemed. Funeral service was at Harvey church eight miles east of Bryan with Rev. R L Brown officiating and burial in Old Bethel cemetery. Pallbearers were C M Bethany, J Vernon Brown, Edgar Peters Jr, Harry Williams, Guy Tobias, Adolph Stasney.

Painful Burns Suffered by Bryanite at Hardware Warehouse
Elo Hedtke of Parker Astin Hardware Co. burned Friday morning while lighting a gasoline stove in the warehouse. He opened the door thinking the flame out and the blast burned his face up to the eyes, which were shielded by his hat brim. He was quickly treated by a doctor.

Ir P Black educational director of First Baptist Bryan was re elected one of the vice presidents at the forty second Texas Baptist Training School convention in Houston. Court sets hearing on highway contracts appeal
Austin November 29. The third court of civil appeals scheduled Saturday at 9 a m for the hearing of an appeal filed by Attorney General J V Allred from the district court order restraining the highway commission from awarding further construction contracts. The court granted the motion for early consideration and speedy determination with both sides and their attorneys present.

Eaves Rites Held For Bryan Resident Sam L Eaves
Funeral services for Sam L Eaves 80 were conducted Tuesday at McCulloch Dansby chapel and graveside in Bryan city cemetery near his wife who died two years earlier. He died at his North Tabor Avenue home after a paralytic stroke. Survivors include two daughters Mrs Bettie Eaves Smith and Mrs Wilbur McCammon and son Howard Eaves with siblings in Austin, Waco, Bremond, Roswell and Houston. Pallbearers listed.

Bryan Man Recovers From Crash Injuries
W. S. Tyler of Bryan sustained a severe ear injury and neck hurt when a car overturned in Jefferson last Wednesday. He was treated at the scene and admitted to a local hospital Sunday. He was the only person injured in the accident.

dos Castoria, a Brazos County man, was sent to Huntsville for a three year state prison term after a Milam county jury convicted him of burglary. Attorney George Butler transported him. W. W. Solomon received a three year suspended sentence, and Charles Wilson got a five year term.
