Brazos Court Names Citizens for Petit Juror Service

Winners Named In Brazos County Women’s Clubs Contest

Mrs. F B Clark announces the Brazos County Federation of Women’s Clubs monthly luncheon Thursday at 12:30 at the Woman’s Club building. Miss Lucy Harrison chairs the literary program and winners of the federation contest will be named including first prizes for short story feature article poetry and one act play. Mrs. R E Caudle of Houston, visiting, will read the prize short story and pursue the brass urn prize. Reservations are being taken and attendance is expected. Also notes H L Whitley’s son in Houston hospital is improving.

Bryan mourns R. P. Siddall at Anderson funeral

Large crowd from Bryan joined in memorial services for R. P. Siddall a longtime Anderson lumberman and county official who died after two heart attacks. Rev S Moylan Byrd led the rites at the Siddall home with interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Survived by wife son Cameron daughter Elizabeth and brother George E Siddall.

Community Canner to Serve Madison County Farmers

Madisonville May 8 The purchase of a community canner and automatic sealer for free use by Madison county farmers was announced by County Agent B F Vance. The equipment will be placed on the Madison county fair grounds and growers must register at his office to use it. An attendant will operate the canning line during the season.
