Ward's Cooking School invites Bryan regionina to lessons

Every woman in the Bryan trade territory is invited to attend a three o clock cooking school this week. Demonstrations on pressure cooking and canning will be led by an expert in this line.

Diphtheria Toxoid Administered at Stabler School

Dr. R M Searcy and Mrs Edna Abbott Shelton administered the second diphtheria toxoid dose at Stabler school Friday. Eleven children completed treatment. one child will receive the second dose later. Participants ranged from infant to ten school students. Mr and Mrs J R Bullard visited relatives in Madisonville. W H Harris and R B Williams of near North Zulch visited Bryan.

Five Score Texas Beauties To Display Cotton Dresses

Five Score Texas beauties will display dainty cotton costumes in the second annual Cotton Ball and Style Show Review at Texas A and M College on April 7. Miss Phyllis Matlock of Frost will preside as cotton queen with Allan B. Bryant of Corsicana as cotton king. J. Mugford and Mrs. J. P. Wheeler lead as organizers. The event opens the 1933 cotton contest for agricultural students, with a 7:20 banquet, 9 style show, and 10 queen’s ball featuring 100 entrants from across the state.

Registration Opens for Texas A&M Fruit Veg Pecans Course

College Station March 28 Registration for the annual short course in fruits vegetables and pecans sponsored by the Texas A and M College department of horticulture will begin Wednesday at 9 30 in the agricultural building and run through Friday. The course aims to aid county agents teachers of vocational agriculture farmers and others with production methods. enrollment costs 1 00 per student. The program covers general orchard practices pecan propagation and pruning insect and disease control soils and summer fall vegetable extending. Instruction by college staff with a detailed daily schedule.

Dedicate Pool At A M College During Reunion

The new swimming pool at Texas A M College will be opened during the April 15 16 reunion weekend when the Association of Former Students holds its spring business meeting. Funded by oil land income and designed by Dr F B Giesecke the 100 by 60 foot pool holds about 281000 gallons and ranges from 3 1 2 to 10 feet deep with continuous circulation.

Six and a half foot rattler killed near Eagle Pass

Ernest Bond killed a six and a half foot rattlesnake with 25 rattles on Elm Creek ten miles north of Eagle Pass. The snake coiled and waited as Bond approached and was slain with a small stick.
