Houston Ford Plant Runs On Schedule

Charlie Cummings a lineman from last year's Texas Aggie team is visiting Bryan from Houston where he works at the Ford plant. The plant operates on a five day week with an 80 car daily schedule but current output runs at 97 cars a day, indicating overcapacity.

Visitor from New Orleans Addresses First Baptist in Bryan

Ollie B. Webb, assistant to the president of the Southern Pacific railroad, spoke at the First Baptist church in Bryan. Rev. Jno L. Wharton introduced him, praising his prominence among Baptist laymen. Webb urged linking life with God and urged faith for success, peace, and eternal happiness.

Gets Wheat Crop From Land Over Which Sheep Ran

Claude J. Hurlburt, a Lubbock businessman, harvested a second wheat crop from Crosby county land he ran 400 sheep on. The first crop yielded 12 bushels per acre. this year’s yield is expected near 10. The land, never plowed after harvest, showed 19.78 percent protein, and sheep eat wheat stubble but not wheat after stemting.

Funeral Service Held for Ida Clark at Shiloh Baptist

Funeral services were held at 2 o clock Thursday for Ida Clark a long time servant in the W W Crenshaw home who died in Prairie View hospital She served the Crenshaw family for about twenty five years and was praised for her faithful service by her mistress and others in the community Interment followed at Oak Grove cemetery
