Funeral Services For Mrs. McAdams

The funeral followed her death at home with services at First Baptist Church conducted by Dr. John A. Held. Pallbearers included four Buchanan brothers and two McAdams brothers. Honorary pallbearers were Circle No. 5 of the Woman's Auxiliary. The burial concluded at City Cemetery with final benediction.

About 1 958 new license tags and auto mobile tax receipts have been issued in Brazos County, a little over half of all cars. From February 1 a 25 percent penalty applies, and driving without a new license may incur a fine. Bryan readers learn of John W. Russell of Bonham the father of Mrs. J Milton Fountain. He died Saturday night after suffering a brain hemorrhage following a Saturday afternoon illness. A prominent Bonham banker, he was 58. Mrs Fountain could not attend. J M Fountain traveled to Bonham after the news. Funeral held Sunday afternoon in Bonham.

Fire in Bryan destroyed the barn and garage of L. A. Nash assistant county agent for Negroes. The car in the garage burned, and the shed attached caught fire. Structures valued at 550 dollars with no insurance, all lost.

Fire in Flue Triggers Alarm at J. M. Williams Home

Fire alarm sounded at 8:17 this morning at the J. M. Williams residence on College avenue owned by Dr. Bizzell. Neighbors saw flames in the flue, but the blaze was only the flue burning out. no water was used and no damage occurred.

Oklahoma A and M Downs Texas University for Second Win

Oklahoma A and M, in Stillwater, defeated Texas University 27 to 15 to clinch a straight two game series. Texas players Esquival and Nations were fouled out for excessive roughing as the Aggies built a 15 to 3 halftime lead and withstood a tighter second half.

Salvato Father Shot By Negro Hijacker In Houston

The Salvato brothers of Bryan report their father Ben Salvato, visiting in Houston, was shot by a masked hijacker at Dowling and Rush streets while awaiting a streetcar. The bullet hit his right arm and bone but he is gaining at St Joseph's Infirmary. Charley Salvato left for Houston to be with him.
