A Ran student was found dead today at French House in Madison Wisconsin. Authorities are investigating the death as a possible accident or foul play as community mourns. Police released no further details pending autopsy results.

David Reeves Hurt In Auto Accident On Benchley Road

A late hour wreck on Benchley Road left David Reeves badly injured after his car overturned. Officer Williams and Dr. B A Sims assisted and he was taken to Bryan then Moehlman Hotel for bed rest. He suffered a broken right arm, gashes and bruises on his right leg, three broken ribs, and serious facial and neck cuts. Reeves claimed a wife in Nacona Texas and a mother in Henderson Texas as authorities sought his next of kin.

B Sbisa and his grandson Wm Ray Kerr returned from Havana Cuba where they spent the holidays with Mr and Mrs E W Kerr Ray Kerr is a student in A and M College Mr Sbisa reports Havana is flourishing as a winter tourist center noting a population comparable to New Orleans and a growing mechca for visitors.

Bryan Cotton Market Slips as Futures Ease About 20 Points

Cotton futures closed today about 20 points down, lowering local spot values to around 22 3 4 cents. Middling basis remains indicated as market watchers note the softer tone for nearby contracts.

Norton Stock Co Presents A Clever Entertaining Show

Frank Norton and his Norton Stock Company star in a double role in the comedy Putting It Over at Palace Theater. Seismograph Detects Earthquake North of Massachusetts

A seismograph recorded a brief quake lasting about 15 seconds to the north of Massachusetts. No injuries or damage reported, and officials say the event appears minor with no aftershocks expected.

Tremor Shakes Boston Area Early This Morning

A 15 second earth tremor was recorded at 8 07 at the Harvard seismograph station. Officials could not estimate the epicenter due to offshore storm disturbance but believed the motion came from the north. The tremor was felt across eastern Massachusetts with houses rattled and dishes jarred.

Three More Named Ferguson Regime

Miriam A. Ferguson named new Texas officials including Mrs. S. W. Meharg as state secretary of state, Mark McGee as adjutant general, and C. O. Austin as banking commissioner. McGee, a Brownwood lawyer and World War I colonel, was backed by General John A. Hulen and Ferguson supporters. Austin had backing from over 350 state banks.

Repairing Grade Crossings In Bryan City

Asphalt is poured today by H. T. C. railroad workers on the grade crossing near Chambers Wilson Motor Company on 28th street to smooth traffic. Repairs will follow on 25th and 26th streets after 28th street work. City Manager J. Bryan Miller led talks with railway officials and will pursue protective arms at the crossings in Bryan.

Millinery School Planned at Carnegie Library

Mrs. Dora R. Barnes of A and M College Extension and Miss Laura Belle Roten will lead a millinery school for home demonstration club women at Carnegie Library. Grayson County Farmer Surrenders After Fatal Shooting

Dr. W. C. Gould of Bells Grayson county was shot and killed in the front yard of farmer Jim Scott near Bells. Scott surrendered in Sherman after the shooting, which occurred last night.

Grimes County Report Brings Good News From Trant

W P Trant returns from Grimes county with tales of farmers selling hogs at about 8 cents a pound and turkeys at fair prices. One hog market sale totaled 248 dollars while another farmer expects 500. Hogs and turkeys fattened on post oak acorns at no cost. Local oil well prospect hoped for this year. Grand jury in session at Anderson prompted brief visit.

Tragic Death Toll Strikes Bryan Family in Beaumont

Mrs L M Johnson chief night operator learns of the deaths of her son Berry L Johnson age 34 and his son Norman Johnson 10 when their car was struck by a train near Beaumont. Berry served in World War I as Private First Class with the 325th Infantry AEF. Surviving are his widow, his mother Mrs L M Johnson, brothers W H Johnson and Luther Johnson, sisters Mrs Annie Trant and Mrs Minnie Lee Cargill.
