Millican and Wellborn Residents Visit Friends and Quilt

Edge Kurten ball players visited last Friday, played five games and won two. Mangum, a former teacher now in Bryan, stopped by the school last week and was warmly welcomed. The party was enjoyed by all.

Hoover vetoes land claim bill for Seminole Nation

President Hoover rejected a bill allowing federal district court in the eastern Oklahoma district to hear Seminole Nation land claims ruling the land had been validly sold at public auction under law.

A M College Lowers Student Dormitory Costs

Texas A and M College announces term term reductions for dormitory students. Room rent drops from 20 to 10 dollars per term and maintenance fees fall from 110 to 96 dollars per term, saving 24 dollars per term. Total costs now 106 dollars per term. Mosquito control advice: drain standing water, oil, or fill every ten days.

Clinic Of Negro Medics Held In Bryan Wednesday

About 30 negro physicians and dentists met in Bryan for dental and surgical clinics and medical discussions. Roughly 75 patients were prescribed for and three surgical clinics were conducted by Dr. W. A. Hammond. Attendees included doctors from Dallas, Houston, Taylor, Rockdale, Cuero, Hearne, Calvert and other Texas towns. A Kemp high school program that night attracted a packed crowd.

College Park Studio Opens to Public Art Exhibit

Miss Marie Haines, artist from College Station, opens her log cabin studio in College Park for a public painting exhibit. Public visits begin with the first Wednesday afternoon and will be held every Wednesday and Friday from 3 to 5 o clock, thereafter.

Rogers' Wife Undergoes Appendicitis Operation

Mrs Will Rogers wife of the humorist and screen actor underwent a successful appendicitis operation at Cedars of Lebanon hospital while her husband waited in a corridor. Mr and Mrs E R Canady visited in Madisonville Thursday afternoon.
