W E Farmer, superintendent for Western Public Service Company, says the firm has purchased Conroe utility including electric and ice plants and a cotton gin. Delphi Chapter Holds Regular Meeting in Carnegie Library

Bryan Delphians met in the Carnegie Library club rooms for their final year meeting with Mrs. Thomas Lundin presiding. The bank and nearly all stores in Paradise Wise county were robbed last night. Police believe the Valley View gang behind the attack that sacked and burned Valley View last week. Six stores the post office and railroad station were entered with little money missing. the Britton post office and bank nearby were also robbed.

Boriskie Captures Six Prizes At Brenham Poultry Show

V J Boriskie of Brazos county returns from Brenham where he exhibited Barred Plymouth Rock and White Leghorns for three days on the 12th 13th and 14th. He won six prizes from seven entries including first and second on Barred Rock pullets and White Leghorns pullets. He also showed a record egg laying hen that laid 185 eggs and drew offers from 50 cents to 50 dollars.

In Mount Vernon Illinois on December 24 the jury found Reverend Lawrence Hight guilty of murder and his co defendant Elsie Sweetin guilty of murder in the Wilford Sweetin poison case. Hight received life imprisonment and Sweetin 35 years. Both attorneys filed notices of intention to seek a new trial.

Jenkins Takes Ribbons at Waco Poultry Show

C E Jenkins of this city, a carpenter and fire chief, also a chicken fancier, sent 14 White Leghorns to the Waco poultry show which began on Wednesday and continued through Thursday and today, winning ribbons.

Local poultry exhibitor earns blue ribbon at Texas show

He won 9 ribbons from 14 entries including a blue, with several red ribbons. Awards were presented on Wednesday, offsetting shipment and entry costs and boosting his reputation as a poultry raiser in Bryan and Brazos County, Texas.
